About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: La Colonia Transport is seeking a Driver to provide transportation to patients to various facilities, medical appointments and clinics.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent Certificate.
Valid Florida Driver’s License.
Minimum of one year transportation experience/customer service.
Ability to use fine motor skills to operate equipment and/or machinery.
Outstanding communication skills - verbal and written.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Must be fluent in spoken and written English/Spanish.
Excellent driving record.
Exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication to deliver a pleasant patient experience.
Must be able to pass a drug test and background screening.

Responsibilities

Ensure that the vehicle and equipment is ready for use at the beginning of the shift and after every trip. This includes appropriate cleaning and disinfecting of the interior and exterior of the vehicle; inspecting; restocking and completing daily checklists of the vehicle and equipment.
Assure patient's safety in accordance with set protocols, policies and procedures with good judgment and the provision of high-quality patient care.
Provide safe and timely transportation of patients to various facilities, medical appointments and clinics.
Assist passengers on and off the vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.
Maintain vehicles in standard working condition. Reports any needs for maintenance immediately.
Complete and retain necessary documentation such as; daily checklists and passenger logs.
Report accidents and/or incidents immediately, per established protocol.
Follow all driving safety rules and departmental procedures at all times.
Perform other duties as assigned.
