About The Position

Jacks Small Engines is the e-commerce leader in small engine parts with more than 3 million parts, 400 vendors, and a best-in-class online parts shopping experience. Jacks has a robust online Parts Look-Up platform that allows customers to quickly and easily find what they need, and operates a company-owned warehouse space to fulfill orders through its websites including jackssmallengines.com and mowersatjacks.com. PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Supports daily operations by serving as the key driver responsible for the safe transport, delivery, and pickup of equipment, providing a high level of customer service throughout all phases of the delivery and setup process.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent.
Valid driver's license and the ability to pass a DOT physical examination are required.
Familiar with the basic use of PC.
At least one year of experience in mechanical repair and light industrial products.
Ability to communicate effectively with others including customers.
Experience driving a large/long vehicle
Strong service orientation.
Strong organizational skills.
Demonstrates Northern Tool + Equipment’s 12 Core Competencies.

Nice To Haves

Experience with a forklift is strongly preferred.
Experience securing equipment on a flat bed/open style truck.
Lawn and garden equipment knowledge is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Operates company vehicles (including flatbed/open-style trucks) to transport equipment, properly securing all loads for transit and performing thorough setups at customer sites.
Promotes customer relations and satisfaction by completing deliveries and pickups on schedule, or connecting with customers in a timely manner to provide updates on delivery status and related needs.
Collaborates with front counter staff to coordinate and schedule deliveries and unit setups, ensuring timely and efficient service.
Prepares and sets up units and equipment at customer locations, and assists customers during pick-up and drop-off processes.
Provides knowledgeable assistance, loads and unloads equipment, and maintains a high level of service standards by performing work in a manner that consistently achieves a high level of customer satisfaction.
Works safely and complies with all established safety rules and work practices, and maintains a neat and orderly vehicle and work environment.
Protects the company against theft or other suspicious activity by immediately reporting suspicious activity to the manager on duty.
Keeps supervisor informed of important information, developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management.
Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate, to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.
Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
