JOB SUMMARY The DOT Truck Driver position requires an experienced driver to support our supply chain logistics department in a safe and timely manner. This role plays a critical part in ensuring on time deliveries, maintaining accurate documentation, and upholding Westlake’s logistics operations with reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Comply with Westlake Safety Policies. Regular attendance, timeliness and scheduling flexibility. Provide safety leadership in promoting and creating a zero-injury safety culture. . Transport finished goods and raw materials to and from manufacturing plants, retail, or distribution centers. Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and safety concerns; perform preventative maintenance. Plan routes and meet delivery schedules. Document and maintain accurate trip records, including: Driver’s logbook Equipment inspection logs Trip reports Daily Timesheets Fuel and toll receipts Load weight tickets Customer delivery receipts Input “macros” into the automated system for each stage of loading and unloading. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as company policies. Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions safely. Collect and verify delivery instructions. Report defects, accidents, or violations promptly. Maintain regular attendance, punctuality, and scheduling flexibility.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.).
  • Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
  • Clean driving record with no recent moving violations.
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather, etc.).
  • Willingness to submit background/drug checks and provide employment references.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with training or certification in a relevant skill or trade.
  • Must have a valid Texas Driver's License
  • Must hold a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) License.
  • 1–2 years of relevant driving experience preferred.
