About The Position

This Position Reports Directly to Transportation Manager Core Responsibilities: Driving. Quality. General Sanitation, Operations, and Maintenance. Performs additional duties as assigned by management. Driving & Unloading: Assist supervisor or manager with any transportation needs. Ensure that equipment is always clean and operable. Follow directions on proper driving and unloading techniques. Always operate vehicles with care and safety and in all places. Ask supervisor questions when in doubt about any procedures assigned. Be trained and licensed to operate a commercial vehicle and operate it in a safe and efficient manner. Perform all tasks assigned in a timely manner. Inspect vehicle (pre-trip & post-trip) Make sure that trailers are clean and presentable. Always have the warehouse manager or supervisor do a final inspection of the loaded trailer before leaving Honeyville Grain. Use proper unloading techniques with electric pallet jacks or hand-stacks. Report any accidents or damage to the manager or supervisor immediately. Be trained to unload different trailers, vans, bulk, bulk oil, etc. Quality: Strictly follow all procedures: Safety Cleanliness Proper driving techniques on roadways Customer satisfaction Maintain license current and medical certification up to date. Etc. Visually inspect the load prior to leaving. Always wear hair nets and bump hats when inside the production rooms. Keep pockets empty of items that could fall into the product. Record any findings of contamination or infestation on any and report it to the manager or supervisor immediately. Ensure that all loaded and unloaded products are of the best possible quality. Notify the supervisor or manager of any quality problems or concerns. Keep good personal hygiene habits. The driver is a representative of the Company and strives to be the best representation of the Company. Always provide quality to the customers unloading, hand-stack, be courteous, and friendly General Sanitation and Maintenance: Cleanliness of equipment inside and outside. Empty trash as needed and maintain a clean and sanitary vehicle. Keep samples of any unusual findings Maintain equipment by completing repair order forms. Complete and maintain all required inspection forms. Be neatly organized with all forms and paperwork. Keep the assigned area clean and sanitized. Other Operations: Assist in other Production and Warehouse operations as needed. Follow all Company Safety Regulations as found in the Safety Handbook. Follow all rules and regulations implemented by the Company. Be courteous while driving and when delivering. Drivers cannot operate Company Vehicles while under the influence of any substance that can impair driving ability. Drivers must comply with all federal, state, and local laws applicable to commercial driving. Always fasten seat belts (passengers also) Drivers may not carry passengers unless they are an employee of Honeyville Grain, Inc.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • A minimum of 2 to 4 years of transportation experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • DOT / FSMA knowledge
  • Knowledge of Samsara or TMS applications.
  • Critical thinking skills and knowledge of analytics.
  • Ability to communicate and lead a team of 30 plus.
  • Complex problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well with team members and navigate stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of Hazmat requirements
  • Must maintain a current Class A license with endorsements.
