About The Position

The position involves safely operating a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes. The job requires adherence to Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements, as well as local, state, and federal regulations. The role includes performing pre- and post-trip inspections, reporting unsafe situations, and maintaining a clean and safe vehicle. The driver will work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies and communicate customer requests or issues. The job is full-time, with a shift from Monday to Friday starting at 6:00 AM.

Requirements

• Must have a Commercial Drivers License B (CDL).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check.
• Acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Operates vehicle in accordance with OSHA and DOT requirements.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle.
• Reports any unsafe situations or service calls to Route Manager or Dispatch.
• Participates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings.
• Works closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies.
• Completes all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch.
• Notifies Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
• Communicates customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager.
• Ensures containers are positioned correctly and leaves the customer's location clean.
• Completes and submits customer tickets for excess yardage removal.
• Follows route assignments and completes documentation at the end of the route.
