About The Position

Southwest Mobile Storage (SMS) is a leading provider of portable storage containers and ground-level office solutions serving commercial, industrial, and government customers across the Southwest. We are built on Speed, Safety, Service, Security, and Selection — and we’re growing. We are seeking a  Driver / Operations Yard Associate for our Denver branch who can operate safely in the field while also supporting daily yard operations. The Driver / Operations Yard Associate is responsible for safely delivering and picking up portable storage containers while also supporting yard organization, equipment preparation, inspections, and general operational tasks. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety — driving, equipment operation, and hands-on yard responsibilities.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or required based on vehicle type)
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass DOT physical (if CDL)
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
• Strong work ethic and attention to safety
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Nice To Haves

• Experience delivering containers or heavy equipment
• Equipment operation experience
• Yard or warehouse experience

Responsibilities

• Safely operate company trucks (CDL required if applicable).
• Deliver, relocate, and retrieve storage containers at customer job sites.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Secure loads properly and comply with DOT regulations.
• Communicate professionally with customers on site.
• Organize and stage containers for delivery.
• Inspect containers for damage and quality standards.
• Assist with minor repairs and cleanliness.
• Maintain yard organization and safety standards.
• Support inventory tracking and documentation.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Comply with Colorado labor and break requirements.
• Adhere to FMCSA/DOT regulations where applicable.
• Participate in safety meetings and ongoing training.
