About The Position

The Driver in the Supply Chain at Christus Health is responsible for the efficient and timely delivery of essential medical supplies and various items to support hospital operations. This role requires adherence to transportation routes, vehicle maintenance, and effective communication with healthcare facility staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• Previous driving courier experience preferred.
• Exceptional driving record with no major violations.
• Valid driver's license in state of employment required.
• CDL class B preferred if employment is in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for delivery of medical supplies, medical equipment, mail, and other items to support the hospital's operations.
• Monitor and schedule maintenance on assigned vehicle.
• Load and unload vehicles as necessary.
• Safely operate a delivery vehicle to transport supplies between multiple locations.
• Maintain proper documentation of delivery for check-ins and check-outs.
• Communicate in English both verbally and in writing, especially under stressful conditions.
• Provide exceptional customer service to healthcare facility staff, demonstrating professionalism and sensitivity to their needs.
• Perform various tasks and follow processes using technology (e.g., smartphone and computer).
• Exhibit excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and Department of Transportation rules of the road.
