About The Position

Wismettac is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Driver Supervisor to lead and support our delivery team while ensuring efficient transportation and warehouse operations. This role provides direct supervision to Drivers at the Branch Office and supports warehouse functions to ensure our high-quality food products are delivered safely and on time. The Driver Supervisor oversees drivers and supports warehouse operations including staging, loading, unloading, stocking, and receiving. This position often serves as the most experienced transportation team member and helps coordinate daily routing, driver performance, and operational efficiency. Driver Supervisors may go out on deliveries to train drivers or complete deliveries during driver shortages. This role may also require loading and unloading trucks, involving regular lifting, carrying, and walking.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or transportation; supervisory experience preferred
  • Valid state driver’s license with a clean DMV record required (CDL not required)
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and operational procedures
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in warehouse and delivery environments
  • Strong leadership and coordination skills when working with drivers and warehouse staff
  • Willingness to work early mornings, overtime, evenings, or weekends as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with forklifts or electric pallet jacks preferred
  • Forklift and Electric Pallet Jack experience or certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan efficient delivery routes and determine necessary stops to maximize the use of available trucks
  • Ensure routes meet legal weight limits and delivery schedules
  • Prepare daily loading and driver sheets outlining assigned routes and stops
  • Maintain and update weekly and master routing sheets for planning and evaluation
  • Review previous day routes, identify discrepancies, and adjust routes to improve efficiency
  • Monitor delivery status and communicate updates with the Supply Chain team
  • Manage daily route add-ons or deletions
  • Ensure delivery vehicles maintain proper temperatures for product safety
  • Verify COD payments are properly collected by drivers
  • Ensure trailers and buildings are secured at the end of each shift
  • Enforce company policies including food safety, DOT compliance, and recordkeeping
  • Train and supervise drivers and warehouse employees in preferred work methods
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings
  • Assist the Logistics Manager with employee performance reviews
