The route sales driver shall be responsible for delivering and selling products or rendering services of the dairy industry to customers' places of business. This position requires driving a truck over an established route, following all Department of Transportation regulations, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and service. The driver will also be responsible for collecting payments, recording transactions, and managing customer orders and complaints. The role involves physical demands such as loading and unloading products, setting up displays, and maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the truck.

  • Drives truck over established route to deliver and sell products or render services of the dairy industry to customers' places of business.
  • Follows all Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Collects money from customers, makes change, and records transactions on customer receipt.
  • Writes customer orders and instructions; records sales or delivery information on daily sales or delivery record.
  • Calls on prospective customers to solicit new business.
  • Prepares order forms and sales contracts.
  • Informs regular customers of new products or services.
  • Listens to and resolves service complaints.
  • Loads and unloads product at destination.
  • Places stock on shelves or racks.
  • Sets up merchandise and sales promotion displays.
  • Issues sales promotion materials to customers.
  • Collects or picks up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise.
  • Stacks and unstacks items weighing 50 pounds from a height of approximately seven feet to the ground and back continually.
  • Drags stacks of milk weighing approximately 240 pounds throughout the shift.
  • Works in very hot (100°+) and very cool (less than 32°) environments throughout the year.
  • Works outside most of the time, regardless of the conditions.
  • Keeps the inside of the truck clean and performs routine maintenance on the truck.
  • Works and drives in a safe, courteous, and efficient manner.
  • Must have a Class A commercial driver's license, with no manual or automatic restriction.
  • Minimum Age: 21, as per Federal D.O.T. regulations.
  • Must be able to pass a D.O.T. Physical and Drug Screen.
  • Past route sales experience and a good driving record preferred.
