The Shred-it Route Driver at Stericycle is a vital role that ensures the safe and efficient destruction of confidential documents for clients. This position is responsible for providing industry-leading service while managing the transportation of supplies and materials in compliance with company policies and local and federal regulations. The driver will perform both onsite and offsite document destruction, ensuring that all confidential information is handled securely and responsibly. This includes loading and unloading the delivery vehicle, performing pre and post-trip checks, and ensuring that all cargo is safely secured before transport. The driver will also be responsible for maintaining a high level of security when emptying consoles and collection totes, ensuring that all documents are retrieved and that the containers are securely locked. In addition to document destruction, the driver will manage assigned routes, ensuring that customers' confidential materials are collected and serviced in a timely and accurate manner. This role requires the driver to handle customer inquiries and problems expediently, always acting in the best interest of both the customer and Stericycle. The position also involves operating company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize the risk of injury and equipment damage, as well as completing and maintaining DOT logs when applicable. The driver must comply with all local, state, and federal laws governing driver fitness and hours of service, and report any maintenance issues to the Transportation/Dispatcher for follow-up.
