Requirements

  • Recruiting experience (transportation/logistics preferred)
  • Familiarity with FMCSA/DOT hiring regulations
  • Experience with pre-employment screening and compliance processes
  • Experience managing pipelines and reporting (Excel, ATS systems)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to maintain accurate, up-to-date data across multiple systems
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • High attention to detail and organization
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • Professionalism, confidentiality, and accountability

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leadership to identify hiring needs and workforce gaps
  • Post and manage job ads across multiple platforms
  • Screen, interview, and guide candidates through the hiring process
  • Clearly communicate job expectations, pay, and benefits
  • Manage pre-employment requirements including:
  • MVR, PSP, CDLIS, and background checks
  • Drug screens and physicals
  • Employment verification in line with FMCSA/DOT regulations
  • Maintain accurate, compliant driver qualification files
  • Lead new driver orientations (virtual and in-person)
  • Coordinate road tests, onboarding steps, and first shift scheduling
  • Ensure every new hire is fully prepared and set up for success
  • Conduct new hire check-ins to support early retention
  • Track and manage candidate pipelines using Excel and ATS (Tenstreet)
  • Provide weekly updates to leadership on hiring progress
  • Lead recruiting calls and share insights on hiring strategies and trends
  • Support retention initiatives and analyze turnover data
  • Track key recruiting metrics like fill rates, onboarding timelines, and retention
  • Travel as needed to support onboarding for new or expanding operations
