Supports the driver onboarding/orientation function at their assigned site by conducting and overseeing training and testing for CDL drivers, coordinating the onboarding process, and supervising onboarding/orientation staff. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Directly carries out supervisory responsibilities to effectively manage onboarding/orientation personnel in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints, and resolving problems Assists Driver Orientation Manager with the development of orientation training materials, tests, evaluations, and assessments. Coordinates and/or conducts driver orientation training, defensive driving training, as well as additional/remedial driver training. Coordinates and conducts safety-related training and answers questions pertaining to safety policies and regulations. Analyzes progress of training course attendees and uses discretion to recommend further training and/or development. Conducts and/or reviews various tests and assessments to evaluate driver performance and submits reports and makes recommendations based on results. Completes and assists onboarding drivers with all necessary paperwork throughout the onboarding/orientation process. Assists drivers during initial tractor assignment when needed, providing truck systems and onboard communication system support. Conducts DOT drug screen collections. Establishes and maintains positive working relationships. Receives and carries out instructions. Maintains regular and predictable attendance. Performs other duties as assigned.
