About The Position

The Commercial Vehicle & Warehouse Operator (Non‑CDL) safely operates commercial motor vehicles (GVWR >10,000 lb and ≤26,000 lb) to perform local pick-up and delivery (P&D) and conducts warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, picking, and quality control. Responsibilities include verifying shipment paperwork, weighing/dimension checks, loading/unloading (including ULDs), staging and replenishment, product scanning, and accurate documentation. The role requires strict adherence to DOT/FMCSR, company SOPs, and site safety policies, while meeting performance, safety, and quality objectives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 6+ months experience in logistics/distribution/warehouse or related environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass federal/state/local background checks, clearances, and drug/alcohol tests (e.g., airport or TSA as applicable).
  • Forklift/MHE training completion (certification required/maintained).
  • Ability to work in unregulated warehouse temperatures (seasonal variations).
  • Ability to comply with and meet commercial driver qualification standards (per DOT/FMCSR for non‑CDL CMV class).
  • Basic computer skills; RF scanners; WMS functions.
  • Basic–intermediate math for counts, verifications, and inventory tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; time management to meet schedules.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, adapt to change, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • English proficiency (reading, writing, verbal).
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills during P&D and dock interactions.

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3 years warehouse/logistics/distribution experience.
  • 1–3 years forklift experience.
  • Current/prior MHE certification.
  • 2–4 years overall relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate company commercial vehicles within a ~20 air‑mile radius to deliver and recover freight from customer locations.
  • Verify shipment bills for required information prior to loading.
  • Load and unload freight safely; weigh and check dimensions against shipper calculations.
  • Sort outbound freight and load ULDs and trucks.
  • Provide professional customer interaction during P&D; protect freight integrity and security.
  • Use gas or electric forklifts/MHE to load outbound shipments, move and stack product.
  • Accurately load to assigned doors/trailers per SOPs.
  • Unload inbound shipments via forklift/MHE; replenish, stack, and store product in assigned locations per SOPs.
  • Accurately pick and stage orders to fulfill client demand.
  • Stack, package, band, shrink wrap, and label products per client requirements.
  • Use appropriate documentation to ensure all products/orders are received, handled, and shipped correctly.
  • Verify products/orders meet quality standards; promptly report damages or discrepancies.
  • Safely operate sit‑down/stand‑up forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, cherry picker and related MHE.
  • Perform daily inspections and minor maintenance; report equipment issues immediately.
  • Maintain active forklift certification; follow prescribed work methods.
  • Execute all safety protocols; maintain a clean, neat, orderly work area; assist with facility security.
  • Comply with Standard Operating Procedures, site policies, OSHA/SDS standards, and DOT/FMCSR requirements.
  • Use required PPE; participate in safety meetings and training.
  • Perform/assist with building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work overtime as business needs require (mandatory or voluntary).
