Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 3 years industry driving experience may be substituted for a high school diploma or GED; Minimum 1 year verifiable driving experience in the industry and in type of vehicle that will be driven; Minimum 1 year freight handler experience.
  • Valid Class C driver’s license issued by the driver’s home state of residence. Acceptable driving record as defined by DOT regulations, TSA regulations and Company policy. Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Forklift Driver Certification.
  • DOT Dangerous Goods and Hazardous Materials Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Receive cargo from incoming trucks by removing from truck by hand, or by using manual equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack, or by using forklift.
  • Verify and note the count and condition of cargo received, knowing when to refuse or accept with notation.
  • Record receipts to appropriate forms and/or log books.
  • Verify that proper documentation is attached.
  • Sort cargo received by account or intended location and store in proper location.
  • Accurately label freight to destination.
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
  • Assist in various warehouse maintenance tasks, including sweeping floors, putting equipment away, etc.
  • May drive truck (safely and in compliance with all applicable State and Federal Regulations) to move trailers, but not authorized to drive on public streets.
  • Containerize, palletize, package, organize and stage freight in a neat and orderly manner for shipment.
  • Upon arrival, receive dock assignment, complete and sign appropriate paperwork.
  • Ensure equipment is in proper repair and working order.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
