About The Position

Do you enjoy driving and want to support individuals with disabilities and autism? Join Northeast Arc as a Part-Time Driver and make every mile meaningful!
Job Summary: Provides safe and timely transportation for individuals served between their homes, day programs, and other authorized locations. Maintains and submits Attendance Sheets, Mileage reports, Vehicle Maintenance logs, and other required documentation on a time-specific basis. Complies with all applicable Northeast Arc and Department policies and HST / MART /DDS regulations. Assure safety and cleanliness of assigned vehicle.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid MA drivers license
• 3 years driving experience with acceptable Driver Record.
• Desire and ability to work with and support individuals with disabilities.
• Able to safely operate various types of vehicles, i.e.; Minivans, SUVs, 15-Passenger and Wheelchair vans.
• Working knowledge of MA State and Federal Laws regarding safe driving.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Human Service Transportation and MART Regulations preferred.
• Ability to use smart-phones, GPS / map software, PCs, and Microsoft Office programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes daily runs transporting individuals as assigned by Dispatcher/Director/designee.
• Ensures individuals safety while entering/exiting/onboard vehicles; by providing proper assistance, guidance, and interventions as needed.
• Complies with all applicable Agency and Department policies and procedures, i.e.; trainings, safety, cleanliness, seatbelts worn, no eating and drinking in vehicles, refueling at tank, etc.
• Complies with and respects all Massachusetts State / RMV driving laws.
• Reports all vehicle accidents to Police, Director and Dispatcher, and completes required documents.
• Conducts daily safety checks of vehicle before departure and reports any problems to Dispatcher.
