About The Position

The Driver/Mobile Branch Deployment Specialist is responsible for the safe, secure, and efficient deployment of the credit union’s mobile branch across assigned locations and community events. This role serves as the primary operator of the mobile unit and is accountable for vehicle operation, site setup and breakdown, security oversight, and operational readiness. The Driver/Mobile Branch Deployment Specialist coordinates required permits and site access approvals, ensures compliance with safety and security standards, and serves as the first point of contact for onsite communications and networking connectivity. Working closely with the Mobile Assistant Branch Manager and internal support teams, this position helps ensure a consistent, reliable, and positive member experience while supporting the credit union’s community engagement and outreach efforts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Vehicle or fleet operation Facilities, maintenance, or mobile equipment support Security, safety, or operations roles Technical field support, networking, or communications troubleshooting
  • Must possess a valid non-commercial driver’s license appropriate for vehicle weight and operation (ex: South Carolina Class D or Georgia Class C). Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is not required.
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
  • Clean driving record required.
  • Ability to meet insurance and fleet safety requirements.
  • Ability to meet internal background screening and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, Excel, and reporting tools.
  • Proficient in the use of GPS and/or navigation systems.
  • Strong situational awareness and safety mindset.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with routine vehicle maintenance.
  • Completion of required training (may be internal) relating to commercial vehicle operation, safety procedures and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to comply with all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations.
  • Working knowledge of communications and networking systems, including cellular, Wi-Fi, satellite, and VPN connectivity.

  • May be required to walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch; occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions during events and deployments.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions such as typing, reaching an operating equipment.
  • Requires ability to communicate effectively in person, on the phone, and via digital channels.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and focus adjustment.
  • Pre-employment background checks, such as criminal reports, credit reports, and drug tests, will be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Post-secondary coursework, technical certification, or vocational training in transportation, facilities, security, logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Specialized training in facility and personnel security is preferred.
  • Specialized training in vehicle operation, safety, and technical systems is preferred.
  • Experience operating large vehicles, specialty vehicles, or equipment trailers preferred.
  • Experience supporting onsite operations at events, remote locations, or rotating work sites preferred.
  • Prior experience coordinating site access, permits, or compliance requirements strongly preferred.
  • Experience working independently and making operational decisions in the field

  • Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance standards.
  • Ability to travel frequently and manage operations in mobile settings.

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to cash handling and branch operations.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for selling and cross-selling Credit Union services to current and potential members. Credit Union services are to be promoted using the member benefit-based approach.
  • Fully complies with all SRP Credit Union policies, procedures, guidelines, and service standards, including, but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act and OFAC Policies.
  • Safely operate and transport the mobile branch vehicle to scheduled locations and events.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle readiness, safety, and compliance.
  • Report any operational, security, safety, maintenance, or site-related concerns.
  • Ensure readiness of systems, equipment, and supplies prior to each deployment.
  • Maintain accurate time records in accordance with the DOR 150 air-mile short-haul exception.
  • Maintain all required documentation, including driver’s logs and accident reporting.
  • Document inspections, incidents, and operational issues as required.
  • Ensures that vehicle is complaint with the Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and other federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
  • Prepare necessary logistics documents in accordance with the established processes and procedures.
  • Ensure routine vehicle maintenance is performed and coordinate service or repairs as needed to support safe and reliable operation.
  • Obtain, verify, and maintain all required permits, approvals, and site access authorizations needed for mobile branch setup and operation at events or community locations.
  • Set up, secure, and break down the mobile branch at each site, including stairs, ramps, leveling systems, generators, and exterior signage.
  • Maintain a secure environment for team members, members, equipment, and the mobile unit.
  • Monitor surroundings during operations and support crowd flow, traffic awareness, and site safety.
  • Monitor and manage onboard security systems, including cameras, alarms, and access controls.
  • Coordinate and troubleshoot communications and networking connectivity, including cellular, satellite, Wi-Fi, and VPN connections.
  • Serve as first point of contact for basic technology or connectivity disruptions until escalated to IT support.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, fuel levels, overall appearance, and sanitation systems, including ensuring wastewater tanks are emptied and cleaned after each deployment, if used.
  • Serve as the primary 24/7 on-call contact for mobile branch operational, security, and urgent support needs, responding or coordinating assistance as required.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement, property managers, or event security as required to ensure the safety of the mobile branch and SRP ambassadors.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Community Impact, IT, and Facilities to support mobile branch operations.
  • Help Mobile Assistant Branch Manager with maintaining documentation for mobile branch related to procedures, incidents, and operational updates.
  • Communicate member feedback, service issues, or system concerns to the Mobile Assistant Branch Manager.
  • Assist with capturing basic engagement feedback or observations to support future outreach planning.
  • Support Community Impact efforts by engaging with members and non-members at events, answering questions, and reinforcing the credit union’s community-focused mission.
  • Provide support with tasks assigned by the Facilities Department, as needed.
  • May be assigned other tasks by appropriate line supervision.
