About The Position

The Driver and Material Handler at Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. is responsible for the efficient movement of materials, tools, and documents between local facilities and vendors. This role is crucial in supporting manufacturing operations by ensuring timely delivery and organization of materials, while adhering to safety and documentation protocols.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver license is a must.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications/training to safely operate forklift truck, hoist, or other material handling equipment.
  • Basic MS Word and Excel skills are required.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated accurate, basic math skills.
  • Basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably 2 years related experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize company vehicles to pick up and deliver items between company locations in Sacramento, McClellan, and Roseville.
  • Ensure items are packaged and secured properly for transport.
  • Load and unload trucks for commercial freight shipments and deliveries.
  • Package and crate items as directed for freight shipments.
  • Ensure required documentation accompanies all requested items and is delivered to appropriate personnel/vendors.
  • Move parts, tools, and manufacturing travelers from material control to work center(s).
  • Use a forklift truck, hoist, or other material handling equipment.
  • Obtain and maintain the appropriate forklift certifications required.
  • Assist receiving personnel in verifying contents of incoming packages.
  • Assist Planning in locating lost and/or missing paperwork.
  • Assist Production Control in moving manufacturing travelers, tools, and materials for manufacturing.
  • Support Property Administrators in handling scrap materials after Discrepant Material Report (DMR) disposition.
  • Verify materials received are ordered in both type and quantity.
  • Maintain a clean work area ensuring strict adherence to the 5S Standards.
  • Move material within and outside of warehouses to organize storage and manufacturing areas.
  • Identify safety concerns and report them to Supervisor.
  • Attend program meetings as needed.
