About The Position

A Driver / Material Handler - Manufacturing handles, moves, and stores various non-hazardous and hazardous materials within the shop. Their main duties include the physical and electronic movement of inventory as they relate to the manufacturing process between both of Retech’s Western New York facilities.

Requirements

  • Able to drive forklifts.
  • Able to use overhead cranes.
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints for parts and assemblies.
  • Knowledge of rigging.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems.
  • Focused and able to perform multiple tasks while maintaining a safe workplace.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be manage time effectively to meet deadlines and stay productive.
  • Data entry proficiency.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • NYS Driver’s License required, class B preferred.
  • 5 years of experience operating vehicles equipped with air brakes.
  • Versatile and willing to help the manufacturing team while also putting safety as a top priority.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external customers.
  • Exceptional organization skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to be proactive and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Detail-orientated with ability to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Taking direction from the Manufacturing Manager, Shipping/Receiving Supervisor, and Material Handlers on loading, unloading, and transport of parts and assemblies between facilities.
  • Operate company vehicles to transport materials and equipment between facilities.
  • Prepare all parts needed for assembly jobs by consolidating and organizing all purchased and manufactured parts, pulling parts from inventory according to job specific pick lists, and verifying and marking all parts on assembly Bill of Materials.
  • Consolidate and organize all loose parts for assembly jobs prior to shipping.
  • Identify and locate product/raw materials for manufacturing jobs.
  • Verify and maintain accurate inventory counts.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Group to ensure adequate supply of raw materials and consumables.
  • Collaborate with Shipping/Receiving to fulfil customer requirements.
  • Other duties and projects assigned.
