About The Position

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the pick-up and delivery of freight.
• Inform drivers about load requirements and delivery instructions.
• Provide tie down and handling instructions when necessary.
• Review driver violations and take necessary disciplinary action.
• Complete daily reports to ensure drivers receive adequate break time.
• Review outside driver inspection reports and make recommendations for disciplinary action.
• Handle initial phone calls regarding accidents and incidents, gathering necessary information.
• Assist drivers with needs following an accident, including workers' compensation forms.
• Gather information on potential cargo claims and document damage.
• Ensure safety is prioritized during dispatching and pre-plan truck routes accordingly.
• Communicate all pertinent information regarding pick-ups and deliveries to drivers.
• Handle payroll problems and address driver complaints or improvement ideas.
• Negotiate delivery times with customers while prioritizing driver safety.
• Maintain service failure program and ensure proper billing for customers.
