About The Position

The Engineer Driver Manager plays a crucial role in supporting professional drivers at Covenant Transport Services. This position is responsible for ensuring that drivers are logistically set up for success, which includes managing communication, performance coaching, and documentation of disciplinary actions. The role requires significant discretion and independent judgment regarding drivers' employment status and involves coordinating with various teams to maintain operational efficiency.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 0-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Ability to deescalate situations and maintain a customer service attitude.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Ensure professional drivers are logistically set up for success.
• Communicate effectively with drivers and in-house personnel.
• Perform performance coaching and motivation for drivers.
• Document disciplinary actions and maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate with drivers and planners to ensure availability and load assignments.
• Complete workflow accurately and timely to address service issues.
• Confirm correct trailer locations for equipment management.
• Update TMW, Service trace, and Power BI with accurate information.
• Manage driver routing for expirations, maintenance, and home time.
• Track breakdowns and PM services for assigned tractors.
• Facilitate DOT required random drug tests.
• Create a culture of safety with a safety-first attitude.
• Audit payroll and accessorial for drivers accurately.
• Maintain high utilization levels for tractors and drivers.
