About The Position

CT Transportation is seeking a Driver Manager for their Savannah, GA location. The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of energy and be a self-starter, capable of making timely decisions in a fast-paced environment. The role requires proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), McLeod TMS Software, and SAP Logistics Management software, although training can be provided for those without prior experience. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, along with exceptional listening skills. The Driver Manager will be responsible for coaching and mentoring new driver associates, maintaining organization, and prioritizing work based on customer and operational needs. Critical thinking skills are necessary to continuously seek improvements in processes and performance, and a positive, outgoing personality is highly valued.

Requirements

Responsibilities

• Lead 30-35 drivers, both Regional and Short Haul drivers.
• Dispatch drivers and monitor loads for on-time delivery.
• Ensure safe operation of the company fleet.
• Maintain up-to-date driver safety data per DOT standards (Physicals, Drug Screens, Logs).
• Ensure visibility of power and trailing equipment, completing scheduled maintenance and repair work.
• Work with customers on daily transportation issues.
• Monitor and track on-time delivery to customer locations.
• Understand driver Hours of Service for planning purposes to ensure safe and legal load assignments.
• Evaluate load plans on multiple drivers to ensure safe and efficient movement of customer loads.
• Audit loads on drivers to maximize driver Hours of Service.
• Monitor and take action on multiple loads on drivers each day to increase freight volumes.
