Attention to detail is crucial as you will review various documents, such as applications, birth certificates, Social Security cards, marriage certificates, court documents, proof of residency, and official documents from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service, Department of Homeland Security, and U.S. State Department, as well as those from foreign countries, to verify their authenticity. You will also access multiple systems and databases to confirm identity documents, establish an individual's identity and eligibility for a driver's license or identification card, and identify potential fraud to prevent identity theft. Additionally, you will process test results and applications, issue driver licenses and identification cards to qualified applicants, and provide information regarding renewals, duplicates, out-of-state transfers, motorcycle licenses, and commercial driver's license requirements and restrictions. Requirements

  • One year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
  • Two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Must pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment.
  • Must possess an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
  • Must have no suspensions or revocations of a driver's license during the five year period immediately preceding employment.
  • Employees hired after February 28, 2022, are required to obtain an active unrestricted Class M driver's license within the first six months of employment or before the end of the probationary period and maintain it during employment.
  • Must possess an active Class A Pennsylvania Commercial Driver's License or equivalent with the following endorsements: P and N. The Commercial Driver License cannot have any of the following restrictions: E, L, N, O, or Z.
