Responsibilities:Proper identification documents needed to establish an applicant’s eligibility for an Arkansas Driver’s License. This is a “front-line homeland security” function that goes along with the driver examining process.• Interpretation of State Laws, especially pertaining to driver licensing, vehicle registration, insurance, and other laws related to the tasks performed.• Knowledgeable in operation of the State’s Arkansas Integrated Revenue System (A.I.R.S.) system which is tied in with State Revenue Office to enter the appropriate identification, test results, and other information pertaining to a driver license/commercial driver license applicant. The Driver’s License Examiner is responsible for administering driver’s license examinations, including knowledge, vision, and road tests, to ensure applicants meet Arkansas state standards for safe driving. This role involves evaluating driver competency, verifying applicant eligibility, and enforcing motor vehicle laws.
