Your duties will include administering a range of vision tests, such as telebinocular assessments and color perception evaluations, to accurately determine the visual capabilities of applicants. You will also conduct knowledge examinations for both non-commercial and commercial driver licenses, ensuring that candidates have a thorough understanding of the Vehicle Code and traffic signage. Additionally, you will perform pre-trip, skills, and driving tests for both types of licenses, adhering to departmental guidelines. A critical aspect of your responsibilities will involve scrutinizing applications, registrations, and permits for any irregularities or signs of fraudulent activity, while also determining vehicle specifications to apply the appropriate tests. Furthermore, you will inspect motor vehicles to verify compliance with safety features, including inspection stickers, lights, and windshield wipers. Your role will extend to reviewing a diverse array of documents, such as applications, birth certificates, Social Security cards, marriage certificates, court documents, proof of residency, and various immigration and citizenship papers, to confirm their authenticity.
