Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older (required)
  • High School Diploma (required)
  • Valid FL Driver’s License with a clean driving record and safe driving skills.
  • Proven work three (3) years’ experience as a Driver (required)
  • Ability to operate large capacity vehicles (10-12 passenger vans and wheelchair buses – required)
  • Ability to operate van lift and adaptive equipment (wheelchairs, scooters, walkers, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Drive large capacity vehicles in order to provide transportation to individuals living in the home to/from training center, medical appointments, home visits and any community outing.
  • Assists every resident to enter and exit the van safely using Quest approved loading and unloading procedures.
  • Ensures all clients are properly secured via seatbelts and tie downs.
  • Provide assistance with personal care for all residents as needed including, but not limited to, toileting, bathing, changing, dressing and hygiene needs.
  • Implement active treatment, training programs, competency checks, behavior plans/protocols and service goals including, but not limited to areas of self-help, daily living, social skills, leisure activities and community inclusion for all residents.
  • Safely lift, transfer and reposition all residents as outlined in daily schedules.
  • Ensure safety for residents who eat orally during mealtimes.
  • Complete housekeeping duties on a daily basis
  • Ensure adequate supervision of residents in the home. This may include staying past regularly scheduled hours until staff arrive for the next shift or back-up staffing is arranged.
  • Report to work during inclement weather to ensure adequate supervision and care of all individuals in the home. This may include sheltering in place during a hurricane.
