About The Position

All Virginia Eagle delivery routes are 4-day local routes that will have the Driver in Training home every night and all weekends! Do you have a CDL Class A Learners or a CDL Class A and want to get on the job training to be a Delivery Driver for one of the leading distributors in Virginia? If so, this is the job for you! We are looking for a Full-Time Driver in Training to join us in delivering beverage products to our customers. This position involves learning what it takes to be a Driver with Virginia Eagle. It will provide on the job training to ensure the Driver in Training is fully prepared to take on a full-time route once available. Job duties include hauling cases of drinks to grocery stores, convenience stores and restaurants, departing out of Winchester, VA. The Driver in Training positions are assigned to local routes that only run 4 days a week meaning you get a better work life balance!

Requirements

  • have the ability to safely drive various vehicles.
  • have at least a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License or a Class A Commercial Driver’s Learners Permit with a safe driving record.
  • be able to lift and carry, including overhead lifting, 15-40 pounds or more on a repetitive basis during a 10 hour day with frequent bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling and sitting
  • be 18 years or older to apply.
  • be able to push and pull a 2-wheel dolly on a regular basis.
  • Package beer weighing 15 lbs. to 40 lbs. per case. Occasionally must be able to lift kegs weighing up to 165 lbs.
  • be able to effectively communicate, utilizing the English language in verbal and written form.
  • be able to use basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • be able to work with handheld computers.
  • must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.

Responsibilities

  • hauling cases of drinks to grocery stores, convenience stores and restaurants
  • unload package beer from truck to account and move beverages in and around account
