About The Position

Transportation Assistant II Driver Split-Shift (6:00am - 9:00am and 1:30pm - 5:00pm) Are you an experienced driver looking for a part time driving position? No weekends. Great for retirees just looking for rewarding work, providing a vital service to our clientele. The Arc of the St. Johns, Inc. is looking for part time drivers to join our team. You'll work alongside a dedicated team to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals impacted by developmental disabilities. Pay: $16.00 per hour plus part time benefits

Requirements

High School diploma
Clear Level 2 criminal background screening (local and national)
Florida driver license with clean record

Responsibilities

Under general supervision, operates a van to transport clients including both severely handicapped and non-severely handicapped in a safe and timely manner.
Operate a large van over a designated route according to an established time schedule; transports clients from home to Main site and then Main site to home, or for special outings.
Assists clients with disabilities in and out of the vehicle; physically maneuvers wheelchair clients up and down ramp or automatic lift; positions clients in their seats; fastens harnesses and belts
Secure clients to wheelchairs/seats and wheelchairs to van (we will provide training)
Maintain discipline on the van
Maintains effective communication with site staff and family members
Follows a set procedure to check the vans daily ensuring it is in proper working order including checking for proper maintenance and safety, including checking fluid and fuel levels and replacing as needed and reporting need for maintenance and repair work
Keeping proper mileage logs/paperwork
