Schedule: Monday - Friday 7am - 4 pm Benefits day 1 The Driver position within our PACE program is the primary resource to transport physically limited passengers in our van to varied destinations timely, safely and door to door.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • DRIVER II - CDL License with Passenger Endorsement is required.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification is required. Course certification must include hands-on skills validation to ensure competency. Courses from both the American Red Cross (Adult First Aid/CPR/AED) or the American Heart Association (Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED), meet this requirement
  • Certification of completion of Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias Training through the Florida Department of Elder Affairs.
  • At least one year experience in transporting handicapped individuals and working with the frail elderly.
  • This position requires consent to drug and/or alcohol testing after a conditional offer of employment is made, as well as on-going compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Policy.

Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the Manager, Transportation, is responsible for the direct transportation of physically limited passengers to and from their destinations.
  • Position required constant interaction with caregivers and community agencies while conducting business with Hope PACE.
  • Transport physically limited passengers to varied destinations both timely, safely and door to door.
  • Ensure that the van is in proper working order.
  • Report and document maintenance performed.
  • Assist passengers on and off the van in a safe and courteous manner.
  • Deal with medical equipment and other emergencies that may arise.
  • Follow established scheduled, adjust schedules to meet unanticipated changes , determine the safest and most efficient pick up and delivery routes.
  • Participate as a member of interdisciplinary team.
  • Take part in participant care planning and contribute to notations in medical record.
  • Report important information to proper staff of Hope PACE daily regarding any changes, progress, or unusual events concerning any participant.
  • Participate in the maintenance of a safe, clean and healthful day center environment.
  • May assist with patient care in the day health center when not transporting participants.
  • Represent the company in a positive and professional manner at all times with others, e.g., co-workers, management, vendors, and customers.
  • Consistently represents Hope with integrity and professionalism.
  • Complete all job responsibilities in a thorough and complete manner, utilizing good judgment in all aspects of the job.
  • Carry out duties and responsibilities in a manner that exemplifies excellent customer service.
  • When unsure of a directed task or any part of job responsibilities, proactively seek the assistance of immediate supervisor.
  • Assist with special projects, as requested.
  • All other job duties as may be assigned.
