About The Position

Position is responsible for providing direct transportation services for children or adults to school, center or program related activities and food service delivery for the Head Start Program. Primarily responsible for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of the children, staff and volunteers during bus transportation to and from the center and on field trips. Position must ensure that the school bus is in good operating condition at all times, pick up and drop off students as per the schedule, maintain order and security on the bus and obey all laws, regulations and rules of conduct. This position is responsible for ensuring program compliance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards regarding transportation services and with local, state and federal regulations.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age.
• Must have a high school diploma, GED, or be actively pursuing GED.
• Must have a good driving record with no at-fault traffic accidents in the last 5 years.
• General record-keeping ability and knowledge of service area is desirable.
• Must be willing to submit to drug and alcohol testing upon request.
• Must meet any physical, mental, and other requirements necessary to perform job-related functions.
• Must complete training prior to transporting any enrolled child and annual refresher training.
