About The Position

The Driver Helper at Builders FirstSource assists the driver in delivering customer orders and loading and off-loading products. This entry-level position involves driving a company vehicle for deliveries and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The role is essential in supporting the delivery process and maintaining customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience in a similar role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand maps, routes, and road signs.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Knowledge of motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with loading and securing products onto delivery vehicles using material handling equipment.
• Helps the driver deliver and off-load products at customer facilities.
• Carries products to designated areas at customer sites with assistance from the driver.
• Delivers customer orders using a company van or pickup truck under 10,000 GVW.
• Obtains signed proof of delivery from customers.
• Drives pilot vehicle for oversize loads, ensuring safety compliance.
• Inspects and maintains delivery vehicles for safety and regulatory compliance.
• Plans and paces work efficiency to meet productivity goals.
• Observes safety procedures to prevent injuries and attends safety meetings.
