About The Position

Liberty Tire Recycling is a high-growth company and the premier provider of tire recycling services in North America, with operations across the United States and Canada. The company annually transforms over 210 million tires into raw materials for sustainable products, contributing to environmental improvement. Liberty Tire is private equity-owned, operates approximately 60 sites, and employs nearly 4,000 individuals. Utilizing innovative tools, technologies, and processes, Liberty Tire is a conservation enterprise committed to reclaiming, recycling, and reusing scrap tires. The company is seeking a Driver Helper to join a team of two, working with a Route Driver. The role involves traveling to retail stores to pick up used tires. Both team members are responsible for manually loading and stacking these used tires onto trucks, with each tire potentially weighing up to 50 lbs.

Requirements

  • Physical stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual labor for extended periods.
  • Teamwork: Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with the Route Driver.
  • Safety awareness: Understanding of and commitment to following safety procedures.
  • Punctuality: Dependability in adhering to the scheduled route and work hours.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with store staff and co-workers.
  • Attention to detail: Ensure accurate and safe tire loading and securement.
  • Background and Drug Screening: Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in the tire recycling or manufacturing industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Route Driver in picking up used tires from retail locations.
  • Manually load and stack tires onto the truck, ensuring proper organization and safety.
  • Perform heavy lifting, as each tire can weigh up to 50 lbs.
  • Ensure adherence to company safety protocols during the loading and unloading process.
  • Assist with truck inspections and ensure that the loading area remains clear and safe.
  • Communicate effectively with store personnel and Route Driver to ensure timely pickups.
  • Follow established routes and schedules for tire collection.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the truck bed.
  • Provide support to the Route Driver in navigating to locations, ensuring timely service.
