About The Position

Heart of America Beverage is seeking energetic candidates to join our delivery team in Springfield as a driver helper. If you enjoy a fast paced and dynamic environment, this job may be for you. The most fun part? We sell beer for a living! Our culture is made up of people who are passionate about beer and passionate about fun. Hourly rate of pay is $16.00 per hour. The driver helper is responsible for assisting the delivery driver with duties as needed. This position requires a hard worker that can self-motivate to achieve the goals of the position. Optional: Driver Helper can be considered for a Class A CDL training program and will be encouraged to obtain a Class A permit within 90 days of hire and a Class A license within 90 days of receiving the permit. The Class A CDL training is conducted in house by a company trainer. The starting salary for a Class A CDL driver is $50,000 plus a commission and bonus structure.

Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods; sit for extended periods while driving; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, balance, crawl, or crouch; lift above head; lift heavy items, up to 40 pounds on a regular basis and frequently up to a 185-pound keg; regularly push/pull 250 pounds with the assistance of a two-wheel dolly, product cart or other mobile equipment; tolerate going back and forth from hot to cold temperatures; climb up and down from cab of truck; and talk and hear.
The driver helper must possess the ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment; and the flexibility to work long hours beyond standard requirements as needed.
Must be 18 years of age for driver helper position or 21 years of age for Class A CDL training program
Must have a valid and clean driver’s license
