About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY The Float Driver (CDL) oversees delivery operations within an assigned region; provides guidance to drivers, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards, and fosters excellent customer service. This role involves leadership responsibilities while actively participating in deliveries as needed. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Train and mentor drivers; conduct ride-along and/or driving spot checks; address issues, coach peers and/or provide additional training; update and maintain driver logs, entries, damages and documentation; primary point of contact for delivery-related issues and resolves issues. Review delivery route efficiency; review logs and monitor fuel usage; identify where improvements can be made (i.e. driving behaviors, maximize efficiency and minimize costs); provide recommendations in collaboration with management. Deliver orders to meet customer demands or cover absences. Continue regular contact with key customers; resolve escalated concerns and ensure customer service satisfaction. Conduct safety briefings and refreshers; maintain and update documentation for deliveries and vehicle inspections; check vehicles and review pre- and post-trip inspection logs; address safety concerns and/or violations in collaboration with TC and/or Safety team. Manage fleet maintenance schedules and address mechanical issues with internal and external stakeholders. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Three (3) years in a delivery or logistics role
  • Valid CDL driver's license and vehicle insurance
  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) meeting company standards
