The purpose of this position is to provide transportation services supporting transfer of passengers and to provide support to all operations of WRC as related to transportation. To provide other support services needed by various contracts as assigned. Regular attendance is a most important job requirement and an essential function of this position.

  • To drive, delivering and picking up goods and products as related to the business enterprises of WRC.
  • To see that vehicles are properly cleaned and maintained in a safe condition at all times.
  • To load and unload trucks belonging to WRC and other transportation services as assigned.
  • To work on various contracts as assigned.
  • Assist in preparation/cleanup/serving of meals
  • Evaluate/Manage the need for supplies in the areas assigned and request additional supplies as needed
  • Manage/Implement schedule of activities as defined by management
  • Follow checklists/task lists established in area of assignment
  • Assist clients with assigned activities/duties/needs
  • Perform quality checks during work performance and upon work completion
  • Perform preventive maintenance prior to use of equipment and to use equipment appropriately. Maintain a safe, clean and healthy work environment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be approved as a driver of vehicles by WRC insurance provider.
  • Experience driving vehicles.
  • Ability to give and follow instructions
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing
  • Ability to organize, plan and implement work schedules
  • Ability to work with others and handle problems in a diplomatic manner
  • Ability to represent WRC in interactions with contract representatives
  • Ability to work with consumers and serve as an appropriate role model.
  • Must not be using medications that would prevent driving.
  • Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing 50 lbs. or more
  • Must have complete use of both arms and be able to operate equipment requiring upper body strength use for an extended period of time-- up to 8 hours per day
  • Must participate in training sessions as scheduled.
  • Must maintain licensure to do the job at own expense.
  • Must adhere to and follow the WRC Code of Ethical Conduct demonstrating understanding while performing essential functions of the job, fulfilling other requirements and using knowledge, skills and abilities in furthering the mission of WRC and in all interactions with consumers, staff and other employees and the public.
  • Must be knowledgeable of emergency procedures, accident reporting and proper techniques for assisting individuals with disabilities.
  • Minimum of high school education or equivalent desired, not required.
