About The Position

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations with American money and measurements.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License and completion of a Defensive Driving Course.
  • Commercial Driver's License (with passenger endorsement) may be required based on vehicle type.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in public transportation or customer service roles.
  • Familiarity with operating two-way radios and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Drive vehicles to provide demand response curb to curb transportation to residents.
  • Exit the vehicle to assist passengers entering or exiting, especially elderly and disabled individuals.
  • Operate the vehicle safely at all times.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any issues to dispatch.
  • Submit requisitions for vehicle repairs as needed.
  • Review daily manifests and interoffice correspondence.
  • Abide by the daily schedule and ensure timely submission of required paperwork.
  • Maintain communication with dispatch via two-way radio or cell phone.
  • Clean and sanitize the vehicle interior daily and wash the exterior weekly.
  • Sell prepaid fare passes and issue receipts as required.
  • Notify dispatch of schedule changes, including no shows and cancellations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and interact with the public in a courteous manner.
  • Drive in inclement weather as necessary.
  • Participate in training and orientation as scheduled.

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly wage between $14.00 and $15.00, with a range of $14.44 - $18.81 per hour.
