About The Position

On M Health Fairview's Home Medical Equipment (FHME) team, we strive to help each patient reach optimal independence, health, and comfort. Do you enjoy supporting patients, solving problems, and connecting with resources in a friendly environment? The DME Driver delivers equipment and supplies for Fairview Home Medical Equipment (HME). Sets up equipment and instructs customers on use in accordance with Fairview Home Medical Equipment procedures, physician orders, customer needs and manufacturer specifications. Provides minor repair and maintenance on company and customer owned equipment. This position is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours over 2 weeks). The schedule is Monday-Friday 8a-4:30p. You will be part of an on call rotation once trained which occurs roughly 1 every 8 weeks. On call shift is one full week Monday - following Monday 8:00am. On call is for service after hours of 4:30pm Monday- Friday and all day Saturday-Sunday. As part of the M Health Fairview system, this role if fully benefit eligible. Responsibilities

  • Ensures the delivery, receipt, and proper function of Fairview Home Medical Equipment supply.
  • Sets up and provides instruction of medical equipment for customers
  • Familiarizes self with Fairview Home Medical Equipment procedures, physician orders, individual customer needs and manufacturer specifications.
  • Loads onto and unloads equipment from delivery vehicle.
  • Provides minor repairs and maintenance on Fairview Home Medical Equipment supply.
  • Coordinates and maintains routine vehicle maintenance checks.
  • Ensures that vehicle has proper tune-ups and oil changes.
  • Ensures vehicle contains adequate fuel for operation.
  • Submits receipts for maintenance expenses.
  • Maintains Fairview Home Medical Equipment stock at various consignment storage areas.
  • Verifies supply against storage area need.
  • Delivers equipment to storage areas as needed.
  • Completes all daily paperwork completely and accurately.
  • Cleans and disinfects equipment per manufacturer specifications.
  • Performs all other duties in the warehouse as assigned
  • Part of an on-call rotation to serve patient needs after hours and on the weekends
  • Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served.
  • Partners with patient care giver in care/decision making.
  • Communicates in a respective manner.
  • Ensures a safe, secure environment.
  • Individualizes plan of care to meet patient needs.
  • Modifies clinical interventions based on population served.
  • Provides patient education based on as assessment of learning needs of patient/care giver.
  • Fulfills all organizational requirements.
