About The Position

The position involves transporting patients for lab, x-ray, and other medical-related services to necessary medical facilities. The role includes ensuring the safety of patients during transport, maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of the transportation vehicles, and coordinating transportation needs with various staff members. The employee will also be responsible for scheduling drivers, maintaining logs, and preparing reports as needed.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Chauffeur's Driver's License required.
• Must maintain a 'cleared' status with the MVR to meet GLBHC's standards for driving company vehicles.
• One year experience in dispatching and scheduling transportation preferred.
• Clean driving record and evidence of insurability required.
• Organized, dependable, and punctual.
• Ability to follow directions, prioritize tasks, and function efficiently with minimal supervision.
• Friendly and courteous with effective communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients for lab, x-ray, and other medical related services to necessary medical facilities.
• Cleans vans inside and out after each trip and/or at the end of the workday.
• Maintains vans with appropriate fuel and fluid levels and provides general maintenance.
• Communicates with the dispatcher regarding job assignments, location, and status of transportation vehicle and driver.
• Receives and transmits calls to the van drivers regarding patient transportation needs.
• Maintains log of transmissions, telephone calls, and any other pertinent information.
• Completes travel schedules and assigns drivers for pickups.
• Prepares and distributes a variety of reports as assigned.
• Assigns drivers to interoffice pickups and deliveries as needed.
• Maintains schedule of all drivers and their location during the scheduled workday.
• Assigns drivers other duties as directed by the Facility and Transportation Director.
