Our Delivery Technicians play a vital role in this mission by positively impacting the lives of patients each day through the delivery of medical equipment to their homes. This position requires excellent customer service skills, as Delivery Technicians must communicate product information effectively, provide solutions, and ensure that patients feel comfortable operating their equipment. The Delivery Technician is responsible for loading and unloading medical equipment, oxygen, and supplies onto and off delivery vehicles. They deliver medical equipment to homecare patients, set up the equipment, instruct patients on its use, and assist them in solving any problems regarding equipment use. Additionally, they ensure that patients do not experience service failures by proactively communicating estimated arrival times with patients and/or family members. The role also involves completing daily delivery logs, pick-up and delivery forms, reimbursement documents, and vehicle maintenance logs, either on paper or electronically using devices like cell phones or iPads. Delivery Technicians must perform routine vehicle maintenance and daily inspections, including checking gasoline, oil fluids, tire pressure, and brakes. They are responsible for reporting any issues or malfunctions to leadership and must respond to critical situations as appropriate, both during regular business hours and on an on-call basis. Compliance with all applicable traffic laws and regulatory requirements is essential, as is adherence to mandatory reporting requirements regarding patient safety and care conditions. The role may also involve cleaning and assisting with the repair of equipment and may require assisting with the scheduling of daily deliveries and pickups to ensure they are organized efficiently.
