About The Position

Steel fabrication and installation company seeking a detailed, dedicated individual to make local deliveries of structural and miscellaneous steel. Looking for a CDL Class B driver. Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate a manual transmission. Driver will assist in loading and unloading materials, help track deliveries, and assist in maintaining inventories. Job will require working outside in a steel fabrication environment as deliveries will be made to various local job sites. Punctuality and reliability are necessary for success in this position. Regular hours are M-F 7am to 4pm. Please be aware that there are times where the shift changes to a 10 hour work shift.

Requirements

• Must have valid driver’s license (CDL Class B)
• Minimum of 1 year Class B experience
• No major moving violations in the last 2 years
• Ability to work outside in Colorado’s ever-changing weather
• Attention to detail – ability to maintain accurate record keeping
• Ability to lift 50# consistently
• Knowledgeable with securing all types of flatbed freight with chains, binders, and straps
• Need to have a Class B CDL for driving standard vehicles

Responsibilities

• Inventory and inspect goods to be moved to determine quantities and conditions
• Inspect loads and secure cargo for transport
• Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting all loads
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crews at the shop and on designated job sites
• Check all load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy
• Check conditions of trucks and any trailers after use to ensure that there has been no damage
• Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
