About The Position

The Driver-Class B CDL Delivery position at BMC Texas Sales LLC involves operating delivery vehicles to transport and deliver materials to customer sites. The role requires adherence to safety regulations, timely delivery of goods, and providing professional customer service. The driver will be responsible for loading, unloading, and maintaining the cleanliness of the delivery vehicle while ensuring compliance with all operational guidelines.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of delivery driving experience is required; two years of CDL driving experience is strongly preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must be able to read and speak English to communicate with DOT.
  • Valid driver's license and a Class B CDL license are required to operate company vehicles.
  • Must be 21+ years old per insurance policies.
  • Must be able to pass MVR report and obtain a DOT medical card.
  • Basic math and measurement skills are required.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 200 pounds with assistance.
  • Physical ability to operate delivery vehicles, including climbing into the cab and using arms to operate controls.

Responsibilities

  • Drive delivery vehicles and/or operate truck-trailer combinations to transport and deliver materials to customer sites.
  • Adhere to driver safety/compliance regulations and deliver undamaged goods on schedule.
  • Provide professional service to customers and act as a liaison between the company and the customer.
  • Load or assist with loading and securing products inside the delivery vehicle.
  • Maneuver vehicles into loading or unloading positions and ensure proper positioning of vehicles and loading equipment.
  • Assist customers with unloading materials safely and accurately.
  • Verify order details and maintain logs of delivery duties including amounts and/or weights of items, mileage, and locations of deliveries.
  • Check items against invoices to ensure order accuracy and handle customer concerns as they arise.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles and perform routine safety checks.
  • Use handheld devices to ensure compliance with DVIR and HOS, maintaining hours of service logs and pre-/post-trip inspection procedures.
  • Operate a forklift or non-motorized material handling equipment to load and offload materials to designated areas.
  • Attend periodic safety meetings and recommend changes to improve safety procedures.
