About The Position

The position involves operating a straight truck, tractor-trailer, or double trailer to deliver products or assets safely and timely to customers, warehouses, and distributors according to a delivery route schedule determined by the supervisor. The role requires demonstrating high standards of customer service and frequent communication with peers, supervisors, and others.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 or more years of experience driving a tractor trailer, straight truck, or doubles trailer, within the last 5 years preferred
• Must meet minimum age requirements
• Must meet DFA requirements for Motor Vehicle Records
• Must meet all DOT requirements
• Valid Class A CDL; some drivers may be required to have a doubles endorsement; license or operator’s permit for at least the three years immediately prior to application

Responsibilities

• Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT and DFA rules, regulations and policies adhering to all safety practices
• Deliver products or assets according to route schedule and customer delivery expectations in a safe and timely manner
• Report delivery delays to management due to road conditions, accidents or breakdowns
• Load and unload product as required at designated stops, which may include stocking and ordering of product
• Communicate effectively and maintain good relations with customers and report any problems to the driver supervisor or manager
• Ensure and/or perform proper maintenance on assigned vehicles and equipment used
• Complete all daily paperwork fully and correctly each day
• Perform load inventory and document condition of freight before departure
• Attend all driver workshops and training sessions
• Use company supported applications or systems properly
• Represent DFA positively and professionally at all times during interactions with customers or other individuals
