About The Position
Wismettac is seeking a professional, safety-minded CDL Driver to represent the company. This role involves more than just moving freight; it's about building relationships and ensuring high-quality products reach customers safely and on time. The driver will operate heavy-duty delivery trucks (averaging 26,000 lbs), manage established routes, and provide top-tier service to clients. The position offers occasional interstate and out-of-state deliveries, typically lasting 2–4 days, providing a blend of driving and physical activity. There are opportunities for professional growth, including mastering FSMA food safety standards and logistics technology.
Requirements
- Valid CDL with a solid driving record
- Ability to handle strenuous physical work, including lifting, pulling, pushing 50+ lbs and maneuvering in/out of the cab
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- A "safety-first" attitude
- Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends to beat the traffic and meet customer needs
- Comfortable using tablets for E-logs and reporting
- Pre-employment Drug testing is required
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer
Responsibilities
- Navigate routes safely in various weather and traffic conditions
- Deliver products, and maintain positive client relationships
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain electronic logs (E-logs)
- Load and unload merchandise (up to 50 lbs)
- Assist in warehouse operation when needed
