We're hiring a Driver, Class A CDL to Live. Work. Explore. this summer! Job Summary: The primary duties of the Horse Department Driver include managing the feed supply for horses, maintaining corrals, and transporting horses as needed. Additionally, the position may involve leading horseback, wagon, and stagecoach tours, requiring the individual to be versatile in both animal care and guest services. Requirements
- Must have heavy equipment operation skills.
- Must possess a Class A Type I commercial driver's license.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Must have basic carpentry/maintenance skills.
- Must have basic horsemanship skills and/or team driving skills.
- Must have knowledge of emergency procedures.
- Must have knowledge of Yellowstone features, facilities and services.
- Must have knowledge of company and department policies and procedures.
- Must be capable of handling 80 lb. hay bales for an extended period of time.
- CPR and First Aid certification required (training provided).
- Qualified Stage Coach/Wagon Driver must not weigh more than 280 Lbs. All others must weigh less than 240 Lbs.
- Able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
- Must be able to mount and dismount horses without any assistance.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to bending, kneel, stretch and reach often.
- Working with large, domestic animals in a corral/ranch setting.
- Working with required chemicals.
- Capable of riding horses or driving teams 12 hours a day.
Responsibilities
- Loading, delivering and unloading of certified hay and grain to corrals within the park.
- Cleaning and removal of manure from in-park corrals.
- Hauling of horses between park locations and transportation of horses to veterinarian as needed.
- Repair, maintenance and construction of corrals and related facilities.
- Acts as a Wrangler/Driver on an as-needed basis, safely conducting horseback tours, wagon and stagecoach tours based on company procedures.
