This position is responsible for driving delivery vehicles and/or operating truck-trailer combinations to transport and deliver materials to customer sites. The role requires strict adherence to driver safety and compliance regulations, ensuring the timely delivery of undamaged goods, and providing professional service to customers. The driver will operate vehicles weighing over 26,000 pounds and may tow vehicles or trailers exceeding 10,000 pounds. Key responsibilities include loading and securing products, delivering customer orders to specified sites, maneuvering vehicles for loading/unloading, and assisting customers with safe and accurate material unloading. The driver must verify order details, maintain delivery logs, check items against invoices for accuracy, and act as a customer service liaison to resolve issues. Additional duties involve maintaining vehicle cleanliness and appearance, performing routine safety checks, using handheld devices for DVIR and HOS compliance, maintaining hours of service logs, conducting pre/post-trip inspections, and potentially handling credit/product return pick-ups. The role also requires operating forklifts or non-motorized material handling equipment for loading and offloading materials, and observing all safety procedures.
