About The Position

Galleher Industries is seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL-A Truck Driver to support delivery operations at our Kaufman, Texas facility. This role is responsible for transporting lumber and steel materials throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) region while ensuring safe handling, accurate delivery, and excellent customer service. This position offers consistent local routes with nightly home time and the opportunity to support yard and plant operations when not engaged in driving duties. The ideal candidate brings strong driving experience, equipment operation skills, and a commitment to safety, teamwork, and operational success. Requirements

  • Current CDL-A driver’s license with a clean driving history
  • Minimum 3–5 years of recent CDL-A driving experience
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing per FMCSA regulations (DOT regulated)
  • Must pass and maintain DOT medical certification
  • Experience operating forklifts and moving oversized freight is required
  • ELD (electronic logbook) experience required; strong comfort with technology preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety procedures
  • Willingness to assist with yard, shop, and operational duties when not driving
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments

Responsibilities

  • Transport and deliver lumber, steel, and related materials to designated customer locations throughout the DFW and surrounding regional areas.
  • Ensure deliveries are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule
  • Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety standards while operating vehicles
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status and needs
  • Inspect vehicles before and after each trip to ensure safe operating conditions
  • Maintain accurate mileage, fuel, and delivery records; ELD knowledge is required
  • Comply with FMCSA and DOT regulations, including drug testing and medical certification requirements
  • Load cargo using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts or cranes
  • Safely secure loads to prevent shifting or damage during transport
  • Assist with loading and unloading freight, staging materials, and organizing deliveries
  • Operate forklifts and heavy equipment to move oversized freight such as lumber and steel
  • Support yard and plant operations when not driving, including inventory handling and general shop assistance
  • Work collaboratively with yard, production, and office teams to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment
  • Contribute to a team-first culture by assisting coworkers and supporting tasks that ensure the overall success of the shop, yard, and delivery operations
