About The Position

Under the direction of the Logistics Manager the Driver/Attendant will function within the guidelines of the companies and department Policies and Procedures. He/she is responsible for the safe transport of patients to and from all CHI centers. Also, transport and performs other request by the departments for CHI business.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Two (2) years experience as a driver desired.
  • Maintain current CPR certification from the American Heart Association. First Aid Training course to be obtained within 60 days of employment. Must be licensed for seven (7) years and have a valid Florida CDL License.
  • Ability to read road maps, and complete paper work as required. Ability to move and/or lift patients and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Operates assigned equipment and performs all procedures in a safe manner as instructed.
  • Picks up patients and transports to designated service areas on a daily basis.
  • Make special deliveries as requested by supervisor.
  • Follows established schedules for transportation.
  • Exercises care and good judgment in providing a safe environment for the patients.
  • Transports and delivers pharmacy medications, medical records, inter-office mail, supplies, x-ray etc., to the different sites on a daily basis.
  • Follows Posted and Universal Precautions at all times when body fluids or other chemicals are present.
  • Driver will maintain a professional, courteous attitude toward patient and co-workers at all times.
  • Follows appropriate Departmental and Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Immediately informs supervisor/designee of any delays or problems that arise, seek to provide safe solutions to identified problems.
  • Informs supervisor/designee immediately of any accident involving patients, vehicle, etc., following Departmental and Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Performs daily safety and other regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on vehicles in accordance with PM Program.
  • Performs daily routine check i.e. tires, all fluid levels, lights, body damage.
  • Follows all Florida Driving Laws and maintain current licensure.
  • Maintains passenger statistics.
  • Answers the radio within four rings with average response time of 3 minutes.
  • Attends mandatory in-services training and annual updates as required by Companies Policies and Procedures.
  • Reports to work on time and ready to work with minimal absenteeism.
  • Adheres to Confidentiality Policies and Procedures / HIPAA Regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
