About The Position

Tessera is seeking a safety-focused and dependable Bus Driver to support passenger transportation at Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor-WSBOSC. This role is responsible for operating buses over specified routes, ensuring safe, timely, and courteous service to passengers. The Bus Driver assists passengers as needed, maintains passenger comfort, and ensures compliance with traffic and safety regulations. The position may also include light vehicle maintenance, baggage handling, and operation of other vehicles as required.

Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma/GED is required.
  • 0-3 years' experience in vehicle operations.
  • Must possess a valid US Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s Identification Card.
  • Must have current or be able to obtain Medical Examiners Certificate (DOT Card) before hire.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military ID, in accordance with the REAL ID Act. Please visit this website for more information: https://www.dhs.gov/real-id.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
  • Per our government contract, 2.7.2.6, “No employee or representative of the Contractor will be admitted to the site of work unless satisfactory proof of U.S. citizenship is furnished.”

Responsibilities

  • Drive bus to transport trainees, government, and/or military personnel.
  • Drive vehicles from individual or central loading areas to training locations, job sites, or other destinations according to the assigned schedule.
  • Drives large passenger buses for long and short hauls to transport personnel throughout the base and on public roads and highways.
  • May assist disabled passengers in or out of the vehicle.
  • Perform cargo delivery as assigned.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Ensure that the equipment is fully operational before each shift.
  • Clean the vehicle and service the vehicle with fuel.
  • Keep accurate trip logs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Operate other vehicles and equipment as required.
  • Perform vehicle licensing examiner functions as required.
