The primary responsibilities of this position include making deliveries and pickups to all construction projects. The driver will also be responsible for the assembly, loading, and unloading of trucks, as well as assisting the Warehouse Manager with various warehouse responsibilities. This role includes training in preparation for a future warehouse manager position and assisting in the overall operations of the warehouse, including equipment management, rental records, and material ordering, as well as coordinating deliveries to job sites.

  • Drive to deliver and pick up materials for construction projects.
  • Assist and train with the warehouse manager to facilitate needed items for projects.
  • Receive equipment and materials lists from foreman and set up deliveries.
  • Maintain a stock of necessary sundries and materials to limit trips to supply houses.
  • Carry standard items such as safety glasses, brushes, and rags in the truck.
  • Shop for prices on equipment and materials.
  • Maintain truck maintenance needs and have equipment serviced regularly.
  • Coordinate schedules and deliveries with the Superintendent.
  • Oversee equipment and materials ordering in advance.
  • Keep the warehouse and yard clean at all times.
  • Bring forward new ideas and recommendations for cost savings.
  • Research new equipment.
  • Keep a running list of warehouse materials available for use.
  • Track inventory and manage hazardous materials.
  • Valid Driver’s License, Class A preferred but Class B CDL required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, Outlook, and Internet research.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage warehouse operations for multiple branches is a plus.
  • OSHA 10 hour certification is a plus.
  • HAZMAT certification or willingness to get certified.
  • Must have or be able to get Certification of Fitness Card.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours.
  • 5-10 years of commercial driving experience is a plus.
  • Ability to operate a boom truck and have appropriate certification is a plus.
  • Mechanical ability is a plus.
