About The Position

The Driver and Warehouse Associate is responsible to the Donation Center and Thrift Manager and Boutique Supervisor. This role involves driving the truck to pick up merchandise and overseeing the hard goods donation system inventory, including the distribution of materials and supplies through the Agency.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate).
  • Previous work related skill, knowledge, and/or experience in sales/inventory/relationship management.
  • FCADV Competency-Based Core training plus an additional 6 hours of individualized training (30 hours total) to qualify for privilege status; must successfully pass written test.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License with at least two years driving experience, active automobile insurance and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain a Level II background check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding customer service.
  • Greet customers/donors in a friendly manner at all times.
  • Ensure warehouse and thrift store is maintained in a clean, orderly, and visually attractive manner in compliance with Six Sigma 5s policy.
  • Schedule and coordinate the truck activities.
  • Drive the Spring's truck to destinations and pick up donated items. Unload articles at warehouse location or a Spring facility as directed by management.
  • Maintain truck log by completing the Inspection form weekly.
  • Inspect truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water prior to leaving facility.
  • Advise supervisor if servicing is required. May perform Emergency Roadside repairs.
  • Accept and sort donated items for survivor use, thrift sales, and bulk resale items in compliance with 5s.
  • Price merchandise.
  • Perform Warehouse and Thrift store opening and closing procedures.
  • Respond effectively to changing demands.
  • Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Act as a problem solver.
  • Carry merchandise into the stores and stock shelves.
  • Work harmoniously with staff, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Check and respond to phone or email messages daily.
  • Be willing to perform other positions within the donation center, boutique, and thrift operation.
  • Perform other duties related to the position as assigned.
