About The Position

The Calibration Engineer is responsible for developing the optimal engine calibration to meet drivability metrics along with ensuring optimal emissions and fuel economy. The engineer is responsible for the calibration maturity and development of sub features resulting in an overall optimal propulsion system. This spans the entirety of the lifecycle of development through conceptual phase, strategy development, calibration execution to subsystem and vehicle level validation including robustness evaluations. The responsibilities will be carried out across all different types of propulsion system concepts and will include varying levels of electrification. The work will coincide with a team of calibration engineers and functions to deliver system level functional objectives mainly related to emissions compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of eight years of total work experience.
  • At least five years of experience related to engine system development.
  • Experience with combustion, valvetrain, fuel system, boost systems, EGR systems, aftertreatment systems, controls and its algorithm including diagnostics.
  • Feature calibration experience with exposure to optimizing drivability, emissions, and fuel economy.
  • Data acquisition experience collecting and processing data.
  • Good teamwork skills and ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Work experience in spark ignition engine controls and calibration.
  • DFSS green belt or higher.
  • Execution of Problem-solving techniques (RedX, Six Sigma, 3L5W, Kaizen, 5S).

Responsibilities

  • Develop optimal engine calibration to meet drivability metrics.
  • Ensure optimal emissions and fuel economy.
  • Manage calibration maturity and development of sub features.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of development from conceptual phase to validation.
  • Collaborate with a team of calibration engineers.
  • Deliver system level functional objectives related to emissions compliance.
